Our bodies were made to handle small doses of stress, but when it’s left unchecked, stress can have significant effects on our health.

Our bodies were made to handle small doses of stress, but when it’s left unchecked, it can have significant effects on our overall health and wellbeing. Stress can affect a variety of systems throughout our body, including our musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, nervous and gastrointestinal systems. It can lead to tension headaches, high blood pressure and high sugar levels, weaken our immune system and increase our risk of developing depression and/or anxiety disorders. In other words, high stress can equal a low quality of life. How can we manage our stress and get our health back on track?

In Stress Management through Exercise, Patrick Faul, Center Director at the Crosby Wellness Center, will lead you through a deep dive into stress, the ways that it impacts our lives and overall health, and keys to managing stress, with an emphasis on introducing exercise as a stress management technique.

This program is presented by Patrick Faulk and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation in partnership with the Crosby Wellness Center.
