Join Crosby Wellness Center instructor, Nicole Elliot, on World Mental Health Day to learn how to meditate and the benefits of meditation.

What are you doing to improve and support your mental health? Have you considered turning to an ancient tradition? For thousands of years, people have used meditation as a means to cope with stress. In recent years, mainstream medicine has gotten on board with meditation as a useful tool for improving your overall health. Some studies have linked it to improved memory and attention, decreased stress and anxiety and even lower blood pressure.

October 10 is World Mental Health Day, and in honor of this global day dedicated to improving mental health, we invite you to learn how to meditate and more about the many benefits of the practice. Led by Crosby Wellness Center yoga instructor Nicole Elliot, you will also practice gentle stretches to better prepare the body for meditation.

Program note: please bring your own yoga mat.

This program is presented by Nicole Elliot and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation in partnership with the Crosby Wellness Center.

About the Presenter:

Nicole Elliott is a Yoga Alliance certified meditation guide and yoga instructor. Her intention is to create a peaceful space to practice mindfulness and wellbeing. She is a yoga instructor at Crosby Wellness Center.
