Event Types :
Join CFCArts teaching artist Simone Boos for a two-part Ballet 101 series designed to teach you the basics of this beautiful dance form.

Come move your body and explore the basics of classical ballet in this introductory series of classes. Each hour-long lesson will explore general body and arm positions while introducing the building blocks of ballet terminology and exercises. Classes will focus on building fluidity, balance, and rhythm through the fundamentals of one of the world’s best known dance forms. Perfect for beginners with or without previous ballet or dance experience.

You have two opportunities to attend this class, May 2 and May 23, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. We encourage you to attend both sessions, giving you the opportunity in class 2 to build on what you learned in class 1, but all are welcome to attend one, both or either session.

Suggested Attire: comfortable athletic or yoga clothing, dance shoes or socks. Participants are also encouraged to bring their own water bottle to class.

This program is presented by Simone Boos and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation.
