Join Alan Zemel to learn the ancient practice of tai chi and breath work.

Are you looking for a way to reduce stress and connect with your body? Tai chi is a gentle form of exercise practiced for thousands of years involving a series of movements performed in a slow, focused way.

Join Crosby Wellness Center group exercise instructor Alan Zemel to learn the ancient practice of tai chi and breath work that will empower you to: lower your blood pressure at will; improve your balance and reflexes through increased proprioception; control your oxygen and carbon dioxide balance as well as your blood PH through breath work; purposely move lymphatic fluid through your system improving immune response; increase range of motion and develop a practice that provides an overall sense of calm in your life.

You can also expect to learn how to activate our “healer withing response” and to take your body from stress response to relaxation response instantly.

No previous tai chi experience is necessary. In this program, you can expect to learn about tai chi, then put that new knowledge into practice with some sample movements.

This program is presented by Alan Zemel and hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation in partnership with the Crosby Wellness Center at the Center for Health & Wellbeing.

About the Presenter:

Alan Zemel is a Senior Teacher-Trainer with The Healer Within Foundation and the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi (IIQTC). Mr. Zemel has been engaged with holistic health care modalities for over 25 years. Mr. Zemel’s classes incorporate various breath and movement techniques that teach students how to take control of their own physiology and health/wellbeing. Mr. Zemel’s classes are science-based and provide modern data and research as to why these practices are effective. Students learn not only how to engage in these practices, but why they work. The focus is on how to control various body systems such as the vagus nerve/relaxation response, parasympathetic nervous system, heart rate variability, lymphatic system, and much more.
