Start your own journey to learning more about herbs for wellbeing with this two-part series, presented by Julie Ward.

With a bigger focus on preventative health over the past several years, people are looking for easy, everyday ways to fight off viruses, ailments and aches and pains. One of the most affordable and simple ways to boost your health is through herbs. These days, even major scientific universities, such as the University of Rochester Medical Center, tout the many benefits of herbs for wellbeing.

Start your own journey to learning more about herbs for wellbeing with this two-part series, presented by certified ACE Health Coach and herbalist Julie Ward. In part 1, Julie will cover Herbs for the Nervous System.

Let’s face it, every now and then we get a little stressed. OK, sometimes, maybe really, really stressed. In addition to our regular coping strategies such as yoga, exercise, meditation and mindfulness, there are plants called nervines that can help support our nervous system through challenging times. Nervines are herbs that influence our nervous system, with some research showing they can help to restore, balance, and strengthen our nervous system.

There are different classes of herbs, including: tonic nervines, which can be taken daily; calming nervines for immediate support; sedative nervines to help with rest and sleep; and stimulating nervines to help restore and boost. In this class, Julie will reveal more about the science behind nervines and discuss tonic and calming nervines designed to soothe, support and strengthen our nervous system in everyday life.
