Ever watch a calligrapher write and think, “I wish I could do that!” Get ready to be impressed with yourself!

Under the careful guidance of calligrapher Jana Ricci, you will soon learn to flourish with style. She will unlock the myths of creating this beautiful art form. Calligraphy is simply knowing how to put together basic strokes to create letters and then words. You will learn these strokes and how to put it all together so that you can confidently make your own cards, gifts and other special projects.

Not only will these new skills help you discover a new hobby, you’ll soon learn the meditative power of this beautiful art form.

This class is open to all levels and is perfect for beginners. This first class will only cover lower case letters due to time, but stay tuned for our in-depth calligraphy series coming in October. Your program fee includes all the materials you’ll need for this class and to get started on your own calligraphy journey. All you need to bring is an open mind and willingness to learn something new.

This program is presented by Jana Ricci and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation.

About the Presenter:

Jana Ricci is a self-taught artist and when people took up various new hobbies during COVID, she honed her talents towards calligraphy. Her philosophy is “Words Matter” so let’s make words look pretty. Calligraphy also gave her the outlet she yearned for at that time– to slow down. She discovered it to be great for relaxing, reflecting and making something beautiful.

Jana currently teaches classes in Central Florida and Montana, works with businesses to tell their story in a creative way, and produces custom pieces for gifts and celebrations.
