Warm up this winter when you learn to create comforting, immune-boosting dishes that nourish both body and soul. Under the guidance of Allison Harrell, Registered Dietitian and Culinary Medicine Specialist, you’ll learn how to prepare cozy, satisfying meals that are packed with ingredients known to enhance immune function and support overall health during the colder months.

Whether you’re looking to fend off winter colds or simply enjoy healthful comfort foods, this session will provide you with the knowledge and culinary skills to create meals that keep you warm and well. You’ll discover delicious, health-promoting recipes that will become staples in your winter kitchen, ensuring you and your loved ones stay nourished and resilient all season long.

Join Allison in the CHWB Nutrition Theatre, where she’ll prepare (and you’ll sample) dishes including: Ginger and Turmeric Carrot Soup. All attendees will leave with a recipe booklet to help you make these dishes in your home kitchen.

About the Presenter:  

Allison Harrell is a registered dietitian nutritionist and plant-based chef who has been passionate about food and nutrition for more than 20 years. She advanced her knowledge by becoming a certified Culinary Medicine Specialist, certified in Weight Loss Management. Harrell believes that every time we eat, it is an opportunity to promote our health. She incorporates culinary experiences with a science-based approach. Her programs and tools make a positive difference in the health of our communities by instilling confidence and knowledge in the kitchen.
