Date & Time

October 18 | 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Event Types :
Join Katie Farmand in the CHWB Nutrition Theatre as she makes and you sample 3 heart-healthy whole grain dishes.

Whole grains are an important part of a healthy diet. Not only are they rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals, they can have tremendous impact on your health. A diet rich in whole grains can lower the risk of heart disease and diabetes and control cholesterol levels.

There are simple ways to make whole grains a staple in your everyday diet.

In this demonstration-style cooking program, you will learn versatile uses for a big batch of heart-healthy whole grains. Work smarter, not harder by cooking one pot of grains and using them in several different dishes throughout the week. You will explore a few whole grains and how to cook them, as well as recipes to use them in.

Join cookbook author Katie Farmand in the CHWB Nutrition Theater to learn to make (and sample) the following dishes: Broccoli-Dill Whole-Grain Pilaf, Whole-Grain Greek Salad, and Whole Grain “risotto” with Tomato and Parmesan.

Cancelling Your Reservation: In order to receive a full refund, participants must cancel their program registration at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled start of the program. Center for Health & Wellbeing’s Refund Policy
