A note about this program series: After registering for the first class in this two-part series, attendees are expected to attend both sessions in order to gain the most out of this program — Tuesday, October 11 and Tuesday, October 25. If you cannot attend both sessions, please allow someone else to register for this limited-capacity program.
Join the CHWB Women’s Empowerment Series to explore unhelpful cultural messages that serve as barriers to prioritizing your own wellbeing. Over the course of two sessions with Katie DeAscanis, a Crosby Wellness Center yoga instructor and graduate student studying mental health counseling, you will engage in low-intensity yoga practice, meditation, conversation, and self-inquiry to help deconstruct unhelpful messages and create more authentic ways of being. No yoga experience is necessary.
During this class, you’ll explore a deeper understanding of self in the context of our various intersecting identities. Plus, you’ll learn how meditation and breath-work techniques can be used as tools for self-regulation and wellbeing.
Participants will walk away from their time in this program with a community of supportive and encouraging women and a better understanding of how take care of themselves in a world that demands so much.
Program Notes: please bring your own yoga mat to both occurrences of this two-part series.
This program is presented by Katie DeAscanis and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation in partnership with the Crosby Wellness Center.
