Join us in person for “Modern Brush Calligraphy” on Tuesday, June 14 at 10 AM in the Community Conference Center.

So you’re ready to get your creative juices flowing but you don’t know where to start. Modern Brush Calligraphy is an elegant way to elevate your letters, greeting cards and even artwork for your home or friends. In this 90-minute interactive workshop led by Calligraphy Artist Lynda Chandler, you’ll learn the basic strokes and lettering drills so you, too, can start creating this beautiful art form using brush pens.

This traditional form of writing is not only elegant to receive, but you’ll find the process of learning and practicing the strokes meditative and relaxing.

Special Note: Brush pens will be provided for use during this workshop, and Lynda will offer tips for purchasing your own pens to continue your practice at home.

By participating in this session, you can expect to:

  • learn the tools for the basics of modern brush calligraphy.
  • receive take-home worksheets for additional home practice.
  • meet and socialize with others.

This program is presented by Lynda Chandler and hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation.

About the Program Presenter

Lynda Chandler is a calligraphy instructor who has been artistic all her life. After being introduced to calligraphy in high school, Chandler began using her beautiful handwriting as an artform. After college, she spent years as an architectural designer and drafter, which required the use of a variety of pens and pencils, which was a creative expression. Chandler creates hand-lettered art pieces for encouragement, inspiration or to add color to someone’s space. As an instructor, she enjoys helping people find their unique creative voice by helping them create beautiful handwritten pieces of art in their own words.
