Spooky Season is almost upon us!

In this class, appropriate for children 8 and older, cookbook author and elementary school teacher Katie Farmand (and mom of two!) will lead a hands-on cooking demonstration designed inspire confidence in young cooks.

They will learn to prepare (and sample) recipes like Mummy Pizza and Protein “Spider” Bites.

The $10/kid program fee includes instruction, samples and a take-home recipe booklet. Parents do not need to purchase a ticket to attend this class, but we kindly request you remain on the Center for Health & Wellbeing campus, with your children in view, during the class. The Nutrition Theatre features clear glass doors, so while the children are participating, you can use the time to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee from Nourish Coffee Bar + Kitchen or get some work done with our free building-wide WiFi while relaxing in one of our lounge areas in the Commons.

This program is presented by Katie Farmand and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation.

About the Presenter:

Katie Farmand is an avid home cook who aims to empower people to get comfortable in the kitchen. The former editor of Edible Orlando magazine, she was a co-host of the web series Delicious Disney and served as emcee for the Festival Stage at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, hosting chef cooking demonstrations and interactive workshops. She is the co-author of two cookbooks Field to Feast: Recipes Celebrating Florida Farmers, Chefs & Artisans and Good Catch: Recipes Celebrating the Best of Florida’s Waters.
