The chaos of modern life can overshadow the joy of the holiday season – especially if you’ve lost someone or had a difficult couple of years. Join licensed mental health counselor Jill Hamilton Buss to explore ways you can thoughtfully create a season of meaning and squeeze joy out of the lemons of the last few years. Learn ways to manage expectations, practice extreme self-care and use evidence-based strategies to reduce stress and increase happiness in this interactive session.
During this session you will explore your expectations for what “Happy Holidays” means to you (long ago vs. now) and recognize families change, you change and maybe it’s time to update traditions and replace them with simpler, less stressful, more meaningful ways to celebrate the season. You’ll learn three evidence-based happiness-boosting, stress-reducing strategies that will add to your wellbeing during the session and every time you employ them during the holidays and for years to come.
Handouts provided, but feel free to bring a journal or paper and a pen for note taking.
This program is presented by Jill Hamilton Buss and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation.
