Join us for a special event all about brain health! Presented by the Winter Park Health Foundation, Crosby Wellness Center and the Alzheimer’s Association of Central and North Florida, this event will provide inspirational talks, fitness demonstrations and community resources available to you and your family.

Healthy snacks from Nourish Coffee Bar + Kitchen will also be offered to empower you to make healthy eating decisions that are good for your brain.

Speakers will include:

  • Crosby Wellness Center group exercise instructor Leslie Lynch, sharing her personal story about being a young caregiver for her mother
  • Dan Jaworski, a fierce advocate fighting Alzheimer’s as a patient in his 50s
  • Denise Ward, the dedicated and passionate Development Manager of The Longest Day project at the Alzheimer Association

We’ve also invited a wide variety of local community organizations to highlight the resources, most of them free, available to those with dementia type disorders and their caregivers.

You will also learn about the benefits available here at the Center for Health & Wellbeing, Crosby Wellness Center and in our community.

Activities will include some gentle relaxation, indoor cycling demonstrations, brain bingo & more. You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in our raffle giveaway for some great passes, and all visitors will receive a free one-day pass to the Crosby Wellness Center. If you’re already a member, you can share it with someone special in your life.

Stay tuned for a full schedule for the day, but save the date! Plan to join us to feel more empowered about your brain health and have a chance to support those already living with dementia-related illnesses.

This program is presented by Alzheimer’s Association of Central and North Florida and Crosby Wellness Center and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation.

About the Presenters:

Leslie Lynch, the owner of Empowered Coaching, channels her journey as a young caregiver for her mother, who was diagnosed with early dementia, into her passion for assisting others in overcoming life’s challenges. Her holistic approach, rooted in evidence-based techniques, is customized to each client’s needs, aiming to foster resilience and grace in navigating adversity.   She learned how to stay sane (most of the time) and built her career on helping others do the same.

Dan Jaworski is a young man in his 50’s living with an Alzheimer’s diagnosis. Dan’s dedication to eradicating Alzheimer’s disease and advocating for patients and caregivers is truly admirable. His message has led him to be a national speaker and his appearances in front of Congress highlight his commitment to raising awareness and driving change in the fight against Alzheimer’s. His efforts serve as an inspiration to many, and his advocacy work undoubtedly has a significant impact on the lives of those affected by this disease.

The Alzheimer’s Association Central and North Florida Chapter serves 43 counties with education and support, as well as raising funds for critical research.

It provides education and support to all those facing Alzheimer’s and other dementias throughout our community, including those living with the disease, caregivers, health care professionals and families. It is also committed to advocating for the needs and rights of those facing Alzheimer’s disease and advancing critical research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure.

Denise Ward works for the CNFL Chapter for Alzheimer’s as the Development Manager TLD/Gala.
