It’s Kids Week at the Center for Health & Wellbeing!
As any parent or caregiver can attest, kids seem to be hungry all the time in the summer. There never seems to be enough snacks! It’s time to empower your little ones to whip up their own summer snacks!
In this class, appropriate for children 8 and older, cookbook author and elementary school teacher Katie Farmand (and mom of two!) will lead a hands-on cooking demonstration designed to give kids confidence in the kitchen.
They will learn to prepare (and sample) the following recipes: Apple “Nachos” with Almond Butter; Grilled Ham & Cheese Roll-Ups: Birthday Cake Energy Bites; and Frozen Yogurt Bark.
The $10/kid program fee includes instruction, samples and a take-home recipe booklet. Parents do not need to purchase a ticket to attend this class, but we kindly request you remain on the Center for Health & Wellbeing campus, with your children in view, during the class. The Nutrition Theatre features clear glass doors, so while the children are participating, you can use the time to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee from Nourish Coffee Bar + Kitchen or get some work done with our free building-wide WiFi while relaxing in one of our lounge areas in the Commons.
This program is presented by Katie Farmand and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation.
