Event Types :
In this class, led by the gardening experts at Fleet Farming, you’ll dive into all things Florida trees.

Consider us biased, but Florida has some of the most beautiful trees in the world. From majestic and sprawling live oaks to our various palms to the flowering tabebuia trees that herald in spring each year, there are so many trees to love in the Sunshine State. Florida’s trees provide shade from the harsh summer sun and a pantry full of fresh produce.

In this class, led by the gardening experts at Fleet Farming, you’ll dive into all things Florida trees. This class will cover the planting, maintenance and care of different types of Florida native and edible trees, as well as the rich and fascinating history of these trees in Florida.

This program is presented by Fleet Farming and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation.

About the Presenter:

Fleet Farming is a non-profit urban agriculture program of IDEAS For Us that transforms the average American lawn into a bio-verse, productive micro farms and edible gardens. Our mission is to empower all generations to grow food to increase local food accessibility. Our vision is to create localized food systems that bring communities together towards a healthier, more connected world in harmony with people and planet. We accomplish this by converting underutilized lawn space into productive localized edible gardens or micro farms. Our program works to provide edible landscaping to schools, community centers and affordable housing units. We also serve businesses and individuals through our community farming initiative and Edible Landscapes garden installation service. Together, we are changing the cycle of food.
