Come learn about Florida’s fantastic falcons with Dr. Daisy Fiore from Audubon Center for Birds of Prey and her special feathered friends!

How many species of falcons are found in Florida? And what makes a falcon, a falcon? Did you know this group of birds includes the planet’s fastest animal? Come learn more about these fascinating birds, which are behaviorally and physiologically distinct from other groups of birds. Dr. Daisy Fiore from the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey will share more about Florida’s fantastic falcons and where to find them. Plus, discover why many falcon species are of conservation concern.

Special instructions: Dr. Daisy Fiore will be bringing some feathered friends with her to this presentation. While the birds are out, attendees must remain seated and quiet.

This program is presented by Birds of Prey and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation.

About the Presenter:  

Dr. Daisy Fiore has been working with animals since 2012. She has held nearly every job in zoos and aquariums from docent to keeper to curator. She holds bachelor’s degrees in anthropology, ecology, and evolutionary biology, a master’s in biological anthropology, and a doctorate in anthrozoology. Her passion is finding ways humans and wildlife can live in harmony for the enrichment of everyone’s lives. She joined the team at the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey in 2022 as the Education Coordinator and has deeply enjoyed spreading the word about these amazing Florida natives and how we can all work together to preserve them.
