Starting a conversation about climate change can seem scary and difficult. Do you feel like the person you’re talking to just doesn’t care? We’re here to help! Inspire change and create a movement by learning the basics of environmental communications. Communication is the key to educating and creating change.
In this April IDEAS Hive, Su Young Choi, Ph.D., a professor of Environmental Communication at Stetson University, discusses the environmental activism that took place in South Korea and what that movement looks like, why it was successful and how we can replicate it by properly communicating environmental ideas to the public. The main part of the presentation will be about communicating environmental ideas to people who are adverse to the topic, and how to open people up to hearing about this and changing the public’s view.
The IDEAS Hive gatherings at CHWB are educational meetings dedicated to raising environmental awareness and fostering a discussion among the audience about projects we can implement to solve global climate issues with localized solutions.
This program is presented by Dr. Su Young Choi and hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation in collaboration with IDEAS For Us.
