Short stories are an excellent place to take risks, create a world and characters that interest you, but writing a short story doesn’t come without its challenges. Get started on mastering the art of writing with Central Florida Community Arts Teaching Artist Chris Hicks. In this session for beginners, Hicks will teach you how to create short stories by using descriptive words that capture your audience’s imagination. Work with Hicks and your fellow writers to create an original, creative work to share with your peers.

Special Instructions: Participants are encouraged to bring paper and a writing utensil.

By participating in this session, you can expect to learn:

  • the roadmap to creating a short story.
  • how to create your own original work.
  • how to connect with other creative writers.

This program is presented by Chris Hicks and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation in collaboration with CFCArts.
