About Your Program Presenter

About Angela Hamilton

Within the UCF Institute for Simulation and Training’s Mixed Emerging Technology Integration Lab (METIL), Angela Hamilton provides program-level management for METIL’s R&D projects and functional teams (games, instructional, 3D, and technical). In addition to helping shape the METIL research agenda, she focuses on developing partnerships and research efforts in the healthcare, corporate, academic, military, government, and non-profit domains. She has led projects for clients such as Microsoft, Google, Johnson & Johnson, and Lowe’s as well as military and government partners such as Navy, Defense Health Agency (DHA), VA, and Army. She holds a B.A. in Digital Media, an M.A. in Technical Communication, and a graduate certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the University of Central Florida. Research areas include applied R&D in areas such as mobility, smart cities, and sustainability; mobile learning and performance support; user-centered design; and narratives and simulations for contextual and situated learning.

About Dr. David Metcalf

Dr. David Metcalf is a Senior Researcher at the Institute for Simulation & Training Mixed Emerging Technology Integration Lab (IST METIL) with a 15-year history in Web-based and mobile learning. He focuses on bridging the gap between corporate learning, simulation techniques, and the use of technology to improve human performance.
