Learn how you can make new family favorite sides for your holiday meals which are loaded with plant phytonutrients and flavor.

Allison Harrell, Registered Dietitian and Culinary Medicine Specialist, invites you into the CHWB Nutrition Theatre to show you how you can make simple sides for your holiday meals. These dishes are loaded with plant phytonutrients to support your health, are loaded with flavor, and are sure to become a family favorite!

This is a demonstration-style cooking program, so prepare to sit back, relax and let our chef prepare the meal while you enjoy the delicious items. While attending this program, participants will receive a booklet for the following recipes:

  • Spiced Cauliflower, Chickpea and Craisin Salad
  • Shaved Parsnip and Carrot Salad with Sage Vinaigrette
  • Baba Ghanoush Dip with Pita Chips
  • Maple Mustard Roasted Turnips

 

This program is presented by Allison Harrell and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation.

About Your Program Presenter

Allison Harrell is a registered dietitian nutritionist and plant-based chef who has been passionate about food and nutrition for more than 20 years. She advanced her knowledge by becoming a certified Culinary Medicine Specialist, certified in Weight Loss Management. Harrell believes that every time we eat, it is an opportunity to promote our health. She incorporates culinary experiences with a science-based approach. Her programs and tools make a positive difference in the health of our communities by instilling confidence and knowledge in the kitchen.
