Event Types :
Join us in-person or watch along live online for a special Food as Medicine cooking program, focused on optimal nutrition for skin care.

We often think of skin as something you care for from the outside. Special cleansers, lotions, creams, and ointments are often sold as being “essential” for healthy skin. While these are an important part of skin care, they’re not the only things that are truly “essential” for healthy skin.

Your skin is created and nourished from the inside out. The nutrients you consume on a day-to-day basis affect the way your skin feels and looks. Join AdventHealth’s Dr. Monique Kumar, a board-certified and fellowship-trained pediatric dermatologist, and Allison Harrell, Registered Dietitian and Culinary Medicine Specialist, as they share more about optimal nutrition for skin care. Plus, you will get to taste some delicious dishes to support your skin care routine.

You have two options for attending this program – save your seat in the Nutrition Theatre or click here to register for our free webinar and watch it from home. Whether you’re watching from inside the Nutrition Theatre or from home, you’ll also have the opportunity to share your questions and comments with Allison and Dr. Kumar during the program.

This program is perfect for teens or anyone wanting to improve the health and appearance of their skin.

This is a demonstration-style cooking program, so our in-person attendees should prepare to sit back, relax and let our chef prepare the meal while you enjoy the delicious items. All attendees, both online and in-person, will receive a booklet for specific recipes TBA. Check our website for updates.

This program is presented by Allison Harrell and Dr. Monique Kumar and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation and AdventHealth.
