Our attention this past year has been diverted to unending news of the pandemic, politics, racial unrest and violence. And what we focus our attention on is amplified – it becomes our experience. By watching this session led by Licensed Mental Health Counselor Jill Hamilton Buss, you can gain a deeper understanding into how your brain and how the process of attention work. Learn tips and strategies to help you regain your ability to pay attention to things that matter to YOU.

The firehose of headlines everywhere we turn, all vying for our limited, precious resource – our attention – has left many of us feeling fragmented and weary. This on-demand program teaches you how to be proactive and selective and better able to focus your limited attention on YOUR life and priorities to feel calmer, healthier and happier.

By watching this session, you can also expect to learn:

  • what “attention” is and how it works
  • what advertisers and marketers know – and how to use some of their techniques to regain control over our fragmented attention
  • how stress and attention are linked and how other states make us vulnerable to inattention
  • evidence-based ways to better understand and reduce mental clutter and increase your ability to pay attention to things that matter

This program is presented by Jill Hamilton Buss and hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation.
