Fig & Caramelized Honey Smoothie

A smoothie that tastes like dessert? Um… yes please! Join Nourish Coffee Bar + Kitchen’s Chef Collette as she shows you how to make a delicious Fig & Caramelized Honey Smoothie!

Serves 1 smoothie

Ingredients: 
1 tbsp honey
4 figs, sliced in half 
½ cup gluten free oats 
¼ tsp ground cinnamon 
1/8 tsp nutmeg 
2 cup ice 
1 cup coconut water 
½ banana pinch of pink salt 

Directions:

  1. In a small saute pan heat honey until it comes to a slight simmer. Add the halved figs, cut side down. Allow to cook until figs become soft and honey starts reducing to make a caramel. 
  2. Once the figs are ready set aside and allow to cool slightly. 
  3. In a blender bowl add the oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, ice, coconut water, and pinch of pink salt. Add the honey & fig mixture to the blender bowl and blend. Start on low and slowly go up to high. 
  4. Allow the smoothie to become completely smooth. Turn blender off and enjoy!
