Dr. Barry Kerzin, an American-born Buddhist monk, is the personal physician to the 14th Dalai Lama, a renowned teacher of mindfulness, and an expert on the intersection of Eastern and Western Medicine. Originally from Northern California, Dr. Kerzin has lived with and provided care to His Holiness the Dalai Lama for more than a decade.
Recently Dr. Kerzin visited the Center for Health & Wellbeing during a trip to the U.S., and sat down with the team from the Wellbeing Network to share his thoughts on Buddhism, mindfulness and more about his personal journey to the Dalai Lama’s compound in India. His message of compassion – the doctor’s simple prescription for a happier, more joyful and connected world – is more important today than ever before.
