Join experts from Hebni Nutrition Consultants for an interactive experience as they share timesaving, healthy snacks for the holidays. In this cooking demonstration, you’ll learn how to make an easy one-bowl cookie that provides a completely healthy and flavorful breakfast in just a few bites. Hebni Nutrition Consultants experts Roniece Weaver and Sheena Cooper will also demonstrate simple cutting and arranging techniques so you can create a festive fruit tray that will be both beautiful and nutritious on your holiday table.

By participating in this program presented by experts from Hebni Nutrition Consultants, you can expect to learn:

  • that cookies can be healthy and still taste good.
  • how to artfully cut and arrange a fruit tray.
  • proper knife skills in cutting fruit.

Special Instructions: Participants are encouraged to follow along with the necessary ingredients. The breakfast cookie ingredients can be found here. To make a fruit tray, participants are encouraged to use a pineapple, orange and use two knives (a paring knife and a santoku or a chef’s knife).

This program is presented by Roniece Weaver and Sheena Cooper and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation.

About Roniece Weaver

Roniece Weaver is the executive director and founding partner of Hebni Nutrition Consultants, Inc., a community-based, not-for-profit agency formed in 1995 to educate high-risk, culturally diverse populations about nutrition strategies to prevent diet-related diseases. Hebni’s mission is to provide culturally appropriate nutrition education and intervention strategies to prevent diet-related diseases. Her company is widely known for the development of the original Soul Food Pyramid and the Soul Food Plate, a culturally sensitive food guide nutrition tool. Hebni’s programs, educational tools, and diabetes cookbooks have been featured by the Orlando Sentinel, USA Today, Newsweek, Today’s Dietician, CNN, and televised on shows such as “On the Menu” and “Woman’s Today.”

Weaver is also a registered and licensed dietician. She received her Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Florida. She holds her Master of Science degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Saint Francis.

Weaver keeps a busy schedule lecturing nationally and instructing locally on various nutrition topics and current health issues related to food and nutrition. Additionally, she served on the National Board for the American Diabetes Association(ADA); National Advocacy Committee for ADA, Past-Trustee for Health Central Hospital, and West Orange County District, Board Member for Florida Hospital Community Health Impact Council, and Board of Directors for the Central Florida Partnership in Health Disparities. Her many contributions have been recognized by receipt of the President’s Award from the National Medical Association Auxiliary, the African American Chamber and the President’s Award for Alum of the Year from the President of The University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL.

About Sheena Cooper

Sheena (Krissy) Cooper is born and raised in Orlando, Florida a graduate of Jones High School, and a licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant. Cooper is a proud veteran of the United States Army. Cooper started with a vision for her daughter’s elementary graduation that formed itself into Krissy Krumbs, LLC. Cooper’s goal is to start a horticultural program for youth that will provide education, jobs and summer programs in her community. Cooper’s love for fruit carving inspires many to eat more fruit and vegetables in their daily routine.
