Traveling by car is a fact of life for most people but let’s face it, our cars aren’t always the most comfortable places to be. Several car features require adjustments to obtain the most comfortable and safest fit. Even more important, a proper fit in one’s personal vehicle can greatly increase not only the driver’s safety but also the safety of others.
Because each person is unique, you may require different settings behind the wheel. Join Fran Carlin Rogers, AARP’s Driver Safety National CarFit coordinator, to learn how well you currently fit in your vehicle and simple ways to improve your fit. In this program, you’ll also learn about driver safety and community mobility. Some examples of topics Rogers will discuss include how to improve blind spots and properly adjust your mirrors; proper foot technique on the pedals; and how far back you should be from the steering wheel.
Special Instructions: Please be prepared to complete a self-assessment form after the presentation. The self-assessment is not a survey and responses are not collected.
This program is presented by Fran Carlin Rogers and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation.
