Special Note: Participants are encouraged to attend each weekly session of the four-week program, but it is not a requirement. You may sign up for any of the four programs without attending the others.
This three-week program with Meditation Instructor Camille Sacco will introduce you to the concepts of mindfulness and meditation. You’ll learn practical tips and simple tools to transform your home and work life into the place it deserves to be. Each week, you’ll learn a little something different about mindfulness and meditation.
In order to cultivate a true understanding and get the most out of your practice, it’s important for your mind to be open and receptive. This will ensure that learning and change can occur. With that, the attitude you bring to your practice is crucial. It is the soil in which we will effectively cultivate daily practices that will inspire confidence in the pursuit of living our lives with a higher purpose.
Each session, we will discuss two attitudes and how they relate to mindfulness. We will also practice a meditation and leave time at the end of the class for discussion and takeaways. Together, this will constitute the foundation upon which you will be able to build a strong mindful meditation practice of your own.
In addition to meditations, we will also experience a Crystal Bowl Sound Bath. Part meditation, part listening exercise, Sound Baths are healing musical performances played with crystal singing bowls and chimes. They can be very therapeutic because you are literally bathed in sound waves, where you will enter a state of deep relaxation. Sound baths help facilitate shifts in our brainwaves by using entrainment. Entrainment synchronizes our brainwaves by providing a stable frequency which the brainwaves can attune to. By listening to the rhythm and frequencies of the crystal bowls, we can downshift our normal beta state (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness) and even reach theta (meditative state) where profound learning, healing and growth can occur.
In week three you will cover:
- Attitudes: Non-Judging and Acceptance
- Meditation: Mountain Meditation
Special Instructions: Attendees can sit in a chair or on the floor for this program. Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat, towel, or small blanket; chairs will be available for those who prefer to use one. The room can also be cool during this program, so cold-sensitive participants may also want to bring a light jacket or sweater. All attendees are also encouraged to bring their own bottles of water.
