Join us for Me to We – Community Engagement and Making a Difference (Webinar) on Monday, April 19 at 11 AM.

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others” isn’t simply a profound quote from Mahatma Gandhi, it’s a framework to a meaningful life lived by helping others. Join Micki Meyer, Lord Family Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs & Community at Rollins College, as she discusses how to best align your passions, talents and interests with volunteer opportunities that make a difference in the world. You’ll learn how to map your interests and talents, set volunteer and engagement goals, find meaningful volunteer activities within your communities and reflect on past volunteer experiences. By sharing and listening to the experiences of your fellow program participants, meaningful, impactful service is right around the corner.

By participating in this program, you can expect to:

  • experience why service and being an engaged citizen is important;
  • learn how to find service projects in your community;
  • and explore how to apply your talents and interests within the community to affect change.

This program is presented by Micki Meyer and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation.

How to join the Zoom Program:

Upon registration for this program, you will receive two emails:

• One email from Eventbrite: you can either disregard this email or save it for your records. No action needed with this message.

• One email from the Center for Health & Wellbeing: this email will contain your link to join the Zoom meeting. Simply select the link and the Zoom Meeting will launch. Please allow yourself five – 10 minutes before program start to launch Zoom and confirm your technology is properly working.

About Your Program Presenter

Micki Meyer serves as the Lord Family Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs & Community at Rollins College. She holds an Endowed Chair position funded by the DHL and RNR Foundations to build capacity around community engagement, high impact learning and student involvement. Micki organizes the College’s work with Rollins Gateway and oversees the Centers for Leadership & Community Engagement, Inclusion & Campus Involvement, Social Impact Hub and Student Media. Most recently she served as the program and project steward for Kathleen W. Rollins Hall.

Over the last 20 years Micki has dedicated her career to advancing changemaking in higher education. Micki serves as an Engaged Scholar for New Perspectives in Higher Education with Campus Compact and Senior Champion with Ashoka U. Her published writing includes the scholarship of engagement and campus/community partnerships. She has been the recipient of honors and recognition for her work including the Robert D. Bradshaw Small Colleges Student Advocate Award (National Association for Student Personnel Administrators) for her demonstrated commitment to the mission and goals of small colleges and her work “above and beyond the call of duty” and has been honored with the Thomas E. Gamble Service Legacy Award (Florida Campus Compact) and Community Engagement Educator Award for Independent Colleges and Universities (Florida Campus Compact). Micki was named a Winter Park Influential (Winter Park Magazine) and one of Orlando’s 40 Under 40 (Orlando Business Journal). An active and frequent volunteer with Central Florida nonprofit and civic organizations, Micki is also a graduate of Leadership Winter Park, Leadership Orange, Leadership Orlando programs and serves on Civic Nation’s All-In Campus Challenge National Advisory Board. She received her Bachelor of Science in Human Communications and Media Management from the State University of New York College at Fredonia and Master of Arts in College Student Personnel from Bowling Green State University. Micki lives in Orlando with her husband David and son James.
