Event Types :
We invite you to join us for an in-depth conversation and Q&A with Dr. Ali on how you can start designing healthy boundaries in your life.

Well-designed boundaries are an essential component of living a happy, healthy, and balanced life. But while you may know that boundaries are important, it can often be confusing and intimidating to understand where, when, how, and with whom to build and maintain boundaries. How you perceive, value, and respect yourself all influence the effectiveness of your boundaries. This approach will help you set limits that are more deeply aligned with your personal values and your relationships.

Join us for a special conversation with Dr. Shainna Ali, a mental health counselor, educator, and advocate who has been featured in outlets including ABC, NBC, Yahoo, Bustle, NPR, Washington Post, and Insider. She is the author of “The Self-Love Workbook,” “The Self-Love Workbook for Teens,” “Luna Finds Love Everywhere: A Self- Love Book for Kids,” “The Self-Love Planner,” and her latest, “Designing Healthy Boundaries.”

Featuring interactive activities, reflection prompts, and case examples, “Designing Healthy Boundaries” will help you explore what boundaries look like in your life and create more meaningful, rewarding connections through the art of boundaries.

“Whatever struggle you have had with boundaries in the past, just by committing to work through this book, you’re already well on your way to creating stronger bonds and boundaries,” Dr. Ali said. “Boundaries are essential throughout our lives and no matter how well equipped you are, they will likely need to be refined over time. When you move toward accepting this ongoing reality, you adopt a cyclical method of boundary design that helps you to love yourself throughout the journey.”

With “Designing Healthy Boundaries” in hand, you’ll learn that boundaries don’t always need to function as a defense system; they can be a catalyst for understanding, respect, and connection.

For $25, your general admission ticket includes a signed copy of “Designing Healthy Boundaries.”

We invite you to join us for an in-depth conversation and Q&A with Dr. Ali on how you, too, can start designing healthy boundaries in your life. Following the talk, you’ll have the chance to talk directly to Dr. Ali and get your book signed. Writer’s Block Bookstore will also be on hand to sell additional copies of the book, as well as her previous books and workbooks.

This program is presented by Dr. Shainna Ali and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation and Writer’s Block Bookstore.
