SUMMARY:Museum of Happiness: 10 Guidelines to Experience More Happiness this Summer
DESCRIPTION:Join part 3 of a three-part Museum of Happiness series\, 10 Guidelines to Experience More Happiness this Summer.\n\n\nA shorter version of the Museum of Happiness Experience held in May\, in this 60-minute workshop\, you will learn about the common myths regarding happiness. Plus\, discover what neuroscience is now recognizing about the brain’s ability to evolve. These findings can help you be aware about how we build resilience and ways we can strengthen our ability to feel more satisfaction and happiness. \nThe workshop is lively\, filled with interactive games and learning moments designed to help you experience your own “a-ha” moments. Your awareness will expand about things in our world that bring us happiness and things in our world that rob us from feeling content. \nYou’ll learn about brain research and how neuroscience has identified that we can strengthen neural pathways so that we can feel more HAPPINESS over time — yes\, neuroscience shows that you really can activate modifications in your brain to feel happier. \nYou’ll leave with your own “Happy Moments” jar: for overcoming our natural negativity bias by recollecting times of joy\, connection\, and appreciation. \nProgram note: This is part 3 of a three-part Museum of Happiness series. You are welcome to join us for one\, two or all three sessions. The other workshops include: \nUsing Your Thoughts to Your Advantage\, May 21\, 1 – 2 PM \nHow to Inspire More Happiness at Work\, June 4\, 6 – 7 PM \nThis program is presented by Rachel Scheinberg and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation. \nAbout the Presenter:    \nRachel Scheinberg is a dynamic Keynote Speaker who uses her 25 years of work in healthcare technology to help others utilize the deepest corners of their brain to accomplish more.  Rachel’s research and work has brought the importance of the Mind-Body Connection into mainstream medicine. \nRachel was recruited to the nation’s largest health insurance company\, UnitedHealthcare\, to build new behavioral health programs that improved access and lowered costs for patients to get additional mental health resources and support. The business cases and medical cost offset these programs demonstrated led to the whole industry following suit. \nRachel then worked for emerging technology companies\, including one of the nation’s earliest providers of telehealth\, Amwell\, to bring virtual care to mental health\, making it less expensive and more convenient.  In 2018 she began offering The Museum of Happiness to community and corporate groups throughout the U.S.  Rachel is the author of 3 books on this topic and lives with her spouse and 2 children in Winter Park.

SUMMARY:Sound Bowl Healing
DESCRIPTION:Experience this unique form of meditation for yourself with Crosby Wellness Center’s Nicole Elliott.\n\n\nJoin experienced sound healing practitioners from the Peggy & Philip B. Crosby Wellness Center at the Center for Health & Wellbeing for a relaxing guided meditation and sound healing experience. \nThe use of sound therapy has existed across cultures and throughout history to promote health and wellbeing. Research shows that sound healing therapy can minimize and relieve pain\, stimulate the immune system\, reduce stress and improve mental and emotional clarity. \nParticipants will be guided through meditation in a seated or reclined position and experience a crystal bowl sound bath. As you relax\, crystal bowls resonate with the crystalline structure of your cells to balance your body’s electromagnetic field\, cleanse and strengthen the energy you radiate\, and promote a deeper sense of calm. \nSpecial Instructions: Attendees are encouraged to sit or recline on the floor for this program. Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat\, towel\, or small blanket; chairs will be available for those who prefer to use one. The room can also be cool during this program\, so cold-sensitive participants may also want to bring a light jacket or sweater. All attendees are also encouraged to bring their own bottles of water. \nThis program is presented by Nicole Elliott and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation in partnership with the Crosby Wellness Center. \nAbout the Presenter: \nNicole Elliott is a Yoga Alliance certified meditation guide and yoga instructor. Her intention is to create a peaceful space to practice mindfulness and wellbeing.

SUMMARY:Crystal Bowl Sound Meditation for Community + Connection
DESCRIPTION:Join Certified Meditation Instructor Camille Sacco for community + connection throughout the month.\n\n\nJoin Certified Meditation Instructor Camille Sacco for community + connection\, and to learn the basics of meditation and to experience a crystal bowl sound bath. \nPart meditation\, part listening exercise\, Sound Baths are healing musical performances played with crystal singing bowls and chimes. They can be very therapeutic because you are literally bathed in sound waves\, where you will enter a state of deep relaxation. Sound baths help facilitate shifts in our brainwaves by using entrainment. Entrainment synchronizes our brainwaves by providing a stable frequency which the brainwaves can attune to. By listening to the rhythm and frequencies of the crystal bowls\, we can downshift our normal beta state (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness) and even reach theta (meditative state) where profound learning\, healing and growth can occur. \nThis sound healing experience is designed to clear and release negative energy\, open your heart\, and promote a quieter state of mind. The harmonious sounds are created to support your body’s natural healing processes while you recline on blankets and pillows. After the session\, you’ll leave feeling mentally and physically rested\, ready to enjoy the peace and tranquility of a healthy mind\, body and spirit. \nSpecial Instructions: Attendees can sit in a chair or on the floor for this program. \nSpecial note: Beginning in 2024\, we will be charging a small fee for some of Camille’s meditation classes. The first session of each month will remain free\, so please use that as an opportunity to introduce friends to the practice of mindfulness and meditation. Space is limited so please reserve your spot for the free community class each month; and if you book a spot and can no longer attend\, please cancel your reservation to allow someone from our wait list to share in this experience. \nThis program is presented by Camille Sacco and hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation. \nAbout the Presenter:    \nCamille Sacco is an American Institute of Health Care Professionals Mindfulness Coach and meditation instructor. She is also a graduate of the acclaimed Palouse Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course. Camille is the author of two self-help books\, “Hippiebanker: Bringing Peace\, Love and Spirituality to the Workplace” and her latest book\, “Firefly Culture: Illuminate Your Workplace by Tuning in to Mindfulness.” She leads fun and informative classes and workshops on mindful meditations and her coaching sessions are infused with down-to-Earth guidance. She is both informative and fun in her approach. Her goal is to help people tap in to the wisdom of their soul by cultivating daily practices that will inspire confidence in the pursuit of living their lives with a higher purpose.
