SUMMARY:Crystal Bowl Sound Meditation for Community + Connection
DESCRIPTION:Join Certified Meditation Instructor Camille Sacco for community + connection throughout the month.\n\n\nJoin Certified Meditation Instructor Camille Sacco for community + connection\, and to learn the basics of meditation and to experience a crystal bowl sound bath. \nPart meditation\, part listening exercise\, Sound Baths are healing musical performances played with crystal singing bowls and chimes. They can be very therapeutic because you are literally bathed in sound waves\, where you will enter a state of deep relaxation. Sound baths help facilitate shifts in our brainwaves by using entrainment. Entrainment synchronizes our brainwaves by providing a stable frequency which the brainwaves can attune to. By listening to the rhythm and frequencies of the crystal bowls\, we can downshift our normal beta state (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness) and even reach theta (meditative state) where profound learning\, healing and growth can occur. \nThis sound healing experience is designed to clear and release negative energy\, open your heart\, and promote a quieter state of mind. The harmonious sounds are created to support your body’s natural healing processes while you recline on blankets and pillows. After the session\, you’ll leave feeling mentally and physically rested\, ready to enjoy the peace and tranquility of a healthy mind\, body and spirit. \nSpecial Instructions: Attendees can sit in a chair or on the floor for this program. Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat\, towel\, or small blanket; chairs will be available for those who prefer to use one. The room can also be cool during this program\, so cold-sensitive participants may also want to bring a light jacket or sweater. All attendees are also encouraged to bring their own bottles of water. \nSpecial note: Beginning in 2024\, we will be charging a small fee for some of Camille’s meditation classes. The first session of each month will remain free\, so please use that as an opportunity to introduce friends to the practice of mindfulness and meditation. Space is limited so please reserve your spot for the free community class each month; and if you book a spot and can no longer attend\, please cancel your reservation to allow someone from our wait list to share in this experience. \nThis program is presented by Camille Sacco and hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation. \nAbout the Presenter:    \nCamille Sacco is an American Institute of Health Care Professionals Mindfulness Coach and meditation instructor. She is also a graduate of the acclaimed Palouse Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course. Camille is the author of two self-help books\, “Hippiebanker: Bringing Peace\, Love and Spirituality to the Workplace” and her latest book\, “Firefly Culture: Illuminate Your Workplace by Tuning in to Mindfulness.” She leads fun and informative classes and workshops on mindful meditations and her coaching sessions are infused with down-to-Earth guidance. She is both informative and fun in her approach. Her goal is to help people tap in to the wisdom of their soul by cultivating daily practices that will inspire confidence in the pursuit of living their lives with a higher purpose. SUMMARY:Nurturing Self-Care and Mindfulness for Your Family
DESCRIPTION:The CHILL program at Orange County Public Schools will help you understand your “why” behind self-care and how to support yourself & family.\n\n\nIn an age of hearing different perspectives at all times via social media and the constant hustle culture\, what does self-care look like? Is it actually a selfish thing to pursue or is it necessary for survival? With information overload how is an individual to differentiate what is important to them versus what one has heard an Instagram influencer say? Self-care for children and teenagers may look a lot different than for adults and parents\, and this is an important aspect to realize when raising or working with children. \nIn this hands-on workshop\, we will seek to clearly define what self-care is and the purpose behind it. We hope to help you understand your why behind self-care and how to support this for yourself\, your family\, and your children. Mindfulness is a huge part of self-care that we will also dive into and gain some practical techniques on how to apply this in your day to day. Will you join as we seek to set foundations for some common terms that are thrown around quite a bit these days? \nThis program is presented by CHILL Counselors and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation. \nAbout the Presenter:    \nThe CHILL (Community Help & Intervention in Life’s Lessons) program in Orange County Public Schools was founded in 1998 by the Winter Park Health Foundation in partnership with the 12 Orange County Public School serving Winter Park\, Maitland and Eatonville. CHILL provides free\, confidential\, in-school counseling to students and their families. It is part of a collection of school-based health and wellness services supported by WPHF called the Coordinated Youth Initiative (CYI). Other services include nurses\, nurse practitioners in school-based health centers\, and healthy school teams.

SUMMARY:Artists' Series: Lunch and Learn
DESCRIPTION:Join us in 2024 for all-new conversations with some of Central Florida’s most talented performers and artists.\n\n\nJoin us in 2024 for all-new conversations with some of Central Florida’s most talented performers and artists. In our monthly Artists’ Series\, presented by Central Florida Vocal Arts\, you’ll enjoy a lunchtime performance from some of Central Florida’s top musicians and have the opportunity to learn about their process and passion. Bring your own lunch from home or pick up something from Nourish Coffee Bar + Kitchen on the way in. \nThis program is presented by Central Florida Vocal Arts and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation. \nAbout the Presenter: \nCharles Stevens is a Central Fl actor/singer/music director who has spent much of his career split between New York City and Orlando. Currently he music directs with Legoland Florida and recently Orlando Family Stage. When not performing at large events with his band\, you can find him at the theme parks in numerous roles. Most recently singing with The Voices of Liberty for the Candlelight Processional\, playing Bruce the Shark in Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond or informing audiences of all things spooky at The Universal Studios Horror Make-Up Show. Aside from singing on stage\, he has a heart for education in the arts and inspiring the next generation of performers. \nCentral Florida Vocal Arts is a non-profit music advocacy organization dedicated to providing the highest quality training to young artists\, while also providing performance opportunities to currently emerging artists of all ages. We are creating a continuing life cycle for the vocal arts in Central Florida through a three-step model. The first step\, Education and Training\, introduces young artists to the arts. Through our educational initiatives\, we develop students’ talent\, passion\, and confidence.  Next\, our Mainstage Productions provide a transition period for students ages 8-18 and pre-professional adults to emerge on stage alongside local professional artists.  Our life cycle culminates with Opera del Sol\, offering innovative productions in unexpected places and challenging perceptions of who the operatic performer and audience members are and what defines the genre as a whole.
