He attended Winter Park High School and went on to play Division I tennis at Harvard University\, graduating with Honors with a degree in biomedical engineering. He earned his medical degree from the Wake Forest School of Medicine\, completed his internship at Wake Forest Baptist Health\, his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Temple University Hospital/MossRehab\, and his fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. \nHis previous sports medicine experience includes mass event and team coverage at all levels\, from high school to professional\, including working with the Philadelphia 76ers (NBA)\, Philadelphia Flyers (NHL)\, Philadelphia Eagles (NFL)\, University of Pennsylvania athletics (NCAA Division I)\, and several high schools in the Philadelphia area. \nDr. Kiymaz is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine\, American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation\, and the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine. It’s time to empower your little ones to whip up their own summer snacks! \nIn this class\, appropriate for children 8 and older\, cookbook author and elementary school teacher Katie Farmand (and mom of two!) will lead a hands-on cooking demonstration designed to give kids confidence in the kitchen. \nThey will learn to prepare (and sample) the following recipes: Apple “Nachos” with Almond Butter; Grilled Ham & Cheese Roll-Ups: Birthday Cake Energy Bites; and Frozen Yogurt Bark. \nThe $10/kid program fee includes instruction\, samples and a take-home recipe booklet. Parents do not need to purchase a ticket to attend this class\, but we kindly request you remain on the Center for Health & Wellbeing campus\, with your children in view\, during the class. Reduced back-pain\, increased flexibility\, and increased strength often come to mind. But\, have you ever made Pilates FUN? We invite you to join us for some fun rolling\, lifting\, bending\, and stretching through some Pilates exercises in an up-beat\, kid-friendly atmosphere! Bring your mat and your little one and expect to make Classical Pilates exercises FUN. \nParents/grandparents/caretakers must keep their children within view during the program. We will have chairs in the room if you’d like to sit in the back and read or work using our free\, building-wide WiFi. We’ll also be opening up the doors to the conference room and you can sit in our Commons\, but again\, you must keep your child(ren) within view. We kindly request that caretakers of younger children remain with their kids in the activity room.  \nThis program is presented by Megan Burditt and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation. \nAbout the Presenter:    \nMegan Burditt is passionate about bridging the gap between healthcare and fitness and working in medically integrated programs. She received a bachelors in Exercise Science from USF and is a registered Exercise Physiologist with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). In Tampa Bay\, she gained experience in corporate/worksite health promotion and hospital-based medical fitness programs with BayCare Health System. Her passion lies in empowering individuals and doctors to utilize exercise for disease management and prevention. She was recently promoted to Wellness Navigator at the Crosby Wellness Center\, and she will be overseeing the fitness Pillar of the new\, comprehensive wellTogether program. \nA community health initiative of the Winter Park Health Foundation\, wellTogether offers a clinically integrated approach to sustainable\, long-term health improvement through a focus on three Pillars: Fitness\, Behavior Change\, and Nutrition.

We’ll also guide you through a calming and empowering tai chi demonstration\, followed by a lively and interactive panel discussion moderated by Patrick Faulk\, Center Director at the Crosby Wellness Center\, featuring several experts including: Trevor Hicks\, DPT\, Senior Director of Clinical Integration at the Winter Park Health Foundation; Megan Burditt\, Wellness Navigator at the Crosby Wellness Center; Karla Radka\, President and CEO of Senior Resource Alliance; Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician Madhumita Lettman\, DO\, of AdventHealth Well 65+; and Liz Kitchens\, author and teaching artist. \nPlus\, we will be serving nourishing\, delicious and healthy lifestyle refreshments\, provided by Nourish Coffee Bar + Kitchen. Starting as a Personal Trainer and Member Services Representative\, Patrick advanced to the role of Senior Manager of Clinical and Retail Operations where he oversaw the operations of the Wellness Center\, Executive Health Program and Lifestyle Clinic. Patrick is a lifelong resident of Central Florida and holds a degree in Applied Physiology & Kinesiology from the University of Florida. He holds multiple certifications in the Fitness & Wellness Industry and is an avid golfer in his spare time. \nTrevor Hicks is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with a decade of clinical experience in orthopedics and neurological care prior to becoming the Senior Director of Clinical Integration for the Winter Park Health Foundation. His main focus is community-based initiatives that center around community health and wellbeing\, while also leveraging his expertise to bridge the gaps between healthcare and holistic wellness practices. He is passionate about optimizing quality of care and quality of life simultaneously. In 2023\, he led the Winter Park Health Foundation’s efforts to launch wellTogether\, a community health initiative that offers a clinically integrated approach to sustainable\, long-term health improvement through a focus on three Pillars: Fitness\, Behavior Change\, and Nutrition. \nMegan Burditt is passionate about bridging the gap between healthcare and fitness and working in medically integrated programs. She received a bachelors in Exercise Science from USF and is a registered Exercise Physiologist with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). In Tampa Bay\, she gained experience in corporate/worksite health promotion and hospital-based medical fitness programs with BayCare Health System. Her passion lies in empowering individuals and doctors to utilize exercise for disease management and prevention. She was recently promoted to Wellness Navigator at the Crosby Wellness Center\, and she will be overseeing the fitness Pillar of the new\, comprehensive wellTogether program. \nMadhumita Lettman\, DO\, is a board-certified family medicine physician who provides compassionate\, whole-person care to seniors at AdventHealth Well 65+ Winter Park. Dr. Lettman is an active member of the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. She is passionate about preventative medicine\, mental health\, and working with all patients toward their own individualized health goals. \nIn more than two decades of public service\, Karla Radka has been a tireless advocate\, leader\, and agent for positive change in Central Florida. Since taking the helm of Senior Resource Alliance in 2019\, she has also been instrumental in expanding access to services that support dignity\, wellness\, and independence throughout life.Karla previously held leadership roles at Goodwill Industries of Central Florida\, Florida Family Care\, and Community Based Care of Central Florida\, a child welfare nonprofit. She also founded Public Allies Central Florida\, a nationally recognized program\, and served as its executive director until 2014. In her personal life\, she supports charitable causes as a volunteer\, consultant\, board member and leader. In 2004\, she co-founded Hope Now International\, a charity organization serving diverse humanitarian causes in Central Florida and around the world. She has also served on the boards of MetroPlan Orlando\, Community Health Centers\, The Collective\, Homeless Services Network of Central Florida\, and regional Commissions on Aging. \nLiz Kitchens is the author of “Be Brave. Lose the Beige: Finding Your Sass After Sixty\,” published in May of 2023 by She Writes Press. Her book and blog\, Be Brave. DESCRIPTION:Join Julie Ward for a a tasting of three different herbal teas and a guide to notice where the energy moves in your body.\n\n\nTea\, with its centuries-old roots in Eastern medicine and cultural practices\, has long been considered a way to good health\, happiness\, and wisdom. Now\, modern western researchers are realizing tea’s role in managing mental and physical health – in addition to supporting lower stress and anxiety\, studies have even found that some teas may help with cancer\, heart disease\, and diabetes\, encourage weight loss\, and lower cholesterol. \nThis program focuses on learning to be in tune with what you feel in your body and following that intuition in the real world. You’ll taste a series of herbal teas designed to give you energy and relax the mind; then\, you’ll take a silent moment and get in touch with your body. During this hour\, program presenter Julie Ward\, a plant-based\, certified ACE health coach and international health speaker\, will lead you through a tasting of three different herbal teas and guide you to notice where the energy moves in your body. Her program of research focuses on enterohepatic metabolism and the mechanisms that drive individual susceptibility to metabolic diseases such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)\, diabetes and obesity. \nDr. Corbin came to the TRI-MD after a 3-year term as a Research Assistant Professor at UNC Chapel Hill\, Gillings School of Global Public Health\, Department of Nutrition. Dr. Corbin earned her doctorate degree in molecular medicine at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in 2008. She became a registered dietitian in 1998 after completing her dietetic internship at the James A. Haley Veteran’s Hospital in Tampa\, FL. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Food Science in 1997 at Florida State University. \nDr. Corbin’s research portfolio includes both investigator-initiated and industry clinical-translational studies focused on novel pathogenic mechanisms and therapeutics.
