SUMMARY:Mindfulness and Meditation: Non-striving and Patience (In Person)
DESCRIPTION:Join us in person for Mindfulness and Meditation: Non-striving and Patience on Tuesday\, January 11 at 7 PM in Community Conference Room B.\n\n\nSpecial Note: Participants are encouraged to attend each week session of the four-week program\, but it is not a requirement. You may sign up for any of the four programs without attending the others. \nThis four-week program with Meditation Instructor Camille Sacco will introduce you to the concepts of mindfulness and meditation. You’ll learn practical tips and simple tools to transform your home and work life into the place it deserves to be. Each week\, you’ll learn a little something different about mindfulness and meditation. \nIn order to cultivate a true understanding and get the most out of your practice\, it’s important for your mind to be open and receptive. This will ensure that learning and change can occur. The attitude you bring to your practice is crucial. It is the soil in which we will effectively cultivate daily practices that will inspire confidence in the pursuit of living our lives with a higher purpose. \nDuring each session\, you will discuss two attitudes and how they relate to mindfulness. You’ll also practice a meditation each week and leave time at the end of the class for discussion and takeaways. Together\, this will constitute the foundation upon which you will be able to build a strong mindful meditation practice of your own. \nIn week one\, you will cover: \n\nAttitudes: Non-striving and Patience.\nMeditation: Awareness of Breath\n\n\nAttendees can sit in a chair or on the floor for this program. Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat\, towel or small blanket; chairs will be available for those who prefer to use one. The room can also be cool during this program\, so cold-sensitive participants may also want to bring a light jacket or sweater. All attendees are also encouraged to bring their own bottles of water. \n\nThis program is presented by Camille Sacco and hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation. \nA note regarding COVID-19 safety protocols: At this time\, all guests at the Center for Health & Wellbeing are required to wear masks in all indoor spaces\, including during our education programs. Presenters may remove their masks in order to be better heard by audience members. Attendees\, however\, must keep their masks fully in place (covering the nose and mouth) during the entire presentation. In accordance with CHWB guidelines\, our programs will also be limited in capacity and rooms set to account for social distancing. \nCanceling Your Reservation: If you are unable to attend a program\, canceling your reservation gives us an accurate count of how many to expect; for sold-out programs\, canceling your reservation also allows someone on the waitlist to attend in your place. Canceling your reservation for this program is especially important as we are currently limiting capacities as part of our COVID-19 safety regulations. Cancelling can be done in two easy ways: by calling 407.644.2492 and selecting Option 1\, then Option 3 to speak to a representative or by using the online ticket cancellation option in your original confirmation email from Eventbrite. \nBy participating in this program\, you agree to CHWB’s Gracious Space policy. \n About the Program Presenter \nCamille Sacco is an American Institute of Health Care Professionals Mindfulness Coach and meditation instructor. She is also a graduate of the acclaimed Palouse Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course. Sacco is the author of two self-help books\, “Hippiebanker: Bringing Peace\, Love and Spirituality to the Workplace” and her latest book\, “Firefly Culture: Illuminate Your Workplace by Tuning in to Mindfulness.” She leads fun and informative classes and workshops on mindful meditations and her coaching sessions are infused with down-to-Earth guidance. She is both informative and fun in her approach. Her goal is to help people tap in to the wisdom of their soul by cultivating daily practices that will inspire confidence in the pursuit of living their lives with a higher purpose.

SUMMARY:Healthy Boundaries: How to Protect You from Boundary Crossers (In Person)
DESCRIPTION:Join us in person for Healthy Boundaries: How to Protect You from Boundary Crossers on Tuesday\, November 16 at 1 PM.\n\n\nEveryone has a built-in alarm system that tells us when our boundaries are being or have been crossed. For example\, if someone gets near you physically\, you take a step back. But what about your emotional boundaries? If someone asks you to do something you’re not comfortable with\, does your alarm sound? Sometimes through conditioning including family or social pressures\, that alarm — which is like a muscle — can grow weak or faint. You may struggle to even hear it\, or not know how to respond. \nJoin Licensed Mental Health Counselor Jill Hamilton Buss as she helps you explore your boundaries and learn ways to strengthen them\, including how to handle chronic boundary crossers during the upcoming holidays – think well-meaning parents\, partners\, siblings or adult children. Like healthy physical boundaries\, healthy emotional boundaries can protect you. Join to learn more about the important role they play in keeping you healthy\, centered and safe. \nSpecial Instructions: Participants should be prepared for this program with a journal or paper and a pen for note taking. \nThis program is presented by Jill Hamilton Buss and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation. \nA note regarding COVID-19 safety protocols: At this time\, all guests at the Center for Health & Wellbeing are required to wear masks in all indoor spaces\, including during our education programs. Program presenters may remove their masks in order to be better heard by audience members. Attendees\, however\, must keep their masks fully in place (covering the nose and mouth) during the entire presentation. In accordance with local guidelines\, our programs will also be limited in capacity. \nCancelling Your Reservation: If you are unable to attend a program\, cancelling your reservation gives us an accurate count of how many to expect; for sold-out programs\, cancelling your reservation also allows someone on the waitlist to attend in your place. Cancelling your reservation for this program is especially important as we are currently limiting capacities as part of our COVID-19 safety regulations. \nAbout the Program Presenter \nJill Hamilton Buss is a licensed mental health counselor who works with clients in a holistic way to create optimal wellbeing for mind and body. She offers traditional in-office psychotherapy\, life coaching and “Walk and Talk Therapy.” She previously served as the executive director of Healthy Central Florida\, an initiative to make our communities the healthiest in the nation.
