DESCRIPTION:Join one of the expert gardeners from Fleet Farming for Plant Propagation 101.\n\n\nIf you’re an avid gardener\, you may have encountered the term “plant propagation” and understand that this is a technique of creating new plants from existing plants. But if you are scratching your head with curiosity about this technical term\, this program is the right place to learn more. \nJoin one of the expert gardeners from Fleet Farming for Plant Propagation 101\, a class designed to help you learn the basics of propagating plants by cutting\, dividing\, grafting\, and other propagation means. \nThe Fleet Farming gardener will answer questions and explain ways you can apply this technique for a flourishing bed of vegetables and flowers. \nProgram Notes: Attendees should bring a notebook and pen for note-taking. \nThis program is presented by Fleet Farming and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation. \nAbout the Presenter:    \nFleet Farming is a non-profit urban agriculture program of IDEAS For Us that transforms the average American lawn into a bio-verse\, productive micro farms and edible gardens. Our mission is to empower all generations to grow food to increase local food accessibility. Our vision is to create localized food systems that bring communities together towards a healthier\, more connected world in harmony with people and planet. We accomplish this by converting underutilized lawn space into productive localized edible gardens or micro farms. Our program works to provide edible landscaping to schools\, community centers and affordable housing units. DESCRIPTION:Come and discover the world of raw desserts as you learn to make tasty\, nutritious sweets.\n\n\nCome and discover the world of raw desserts as you learn to make tasty\, nutritious sweets. \nRaw food desserts are healthy\, tasty\, and free from all the sugar\, flour\, butter and cream of traditional recipes. Often people can’t believe raw desserts can be this tasty. \nThey are also ideal for anyone who loves sweets but is avoiding refined carbohydrates and sugars\, dairy products\, and unhealthful fats. If you want to experience new flavors and you want your family to eat the best and most nutritious desserts\, this class is for you. Hosted by plant-based\, certified ACE health coach Julie Ward\, you will learn techniques and tips for introducing raw desserts into your diet. \nThere is no heating involved\, so these treats will also maintain their original whole food nutrient dense value. Julie will be using some nuts in the recipes. Nuts and seeds are a great source of heart-healthy fats\, fiber and protein\, and they pack a number of vitamins and minerals. DESCRIPTION:In honor of May being Mental Health Awareness Month\, we’re excited to bring back the popular Museum of Happiness workshop.\n\n\nThe Museum of Happiness Experience offers a fun and engaging workshop to explore ways you can access more joy in your everyday life. \nThe Museum of Happiness Experience is designed to do exactly what a museum does: educate and offer a new perspective! \nIn this activity-filled workshop\, you will learn about the common myths regarding happiness. Plus\, discover what neuroscience is now recognizing about the brain’s ability to evolve. These findings can help you be aware about how we build resilience and ways we can strengthen our ability to feel more satisfaction and happiness. \nThe workshop is lively\, filled with interactive games and learning moments designed to help you experience your own “a-ha” moments. \nYour awareness will expand about things in our world that bring us happiness and things in our world that rob us from feeling content. \nYou’ll learn about brain research and how neuroscience has identified that we can strengthen neural pathways so that we can feel more HAPPINESS over time — yes\, neuroscience shows that you really can activate modifications in your brain to feel happier. \nCome prepared to laugh\, learn and connect with others seeking a scientific path to happiness. \nMay is Mental Health Awareness Month\, and discovering tools and tips for increasing your happiness is a valuable gift to yourself. Throughout the month\, in conjunction with the Museum of Happiness Experience\, we invite you to stop by the Healthy Living Experience to view posters related to this project\, celebrating the science of happiness. \nThis program is presented by Rachel Scheinberg and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation. \nAbout the Presenter:    \nRachel Scheinberg is a dynamic Keynote Speaker who uses her 25 years of work in healthcare technology to help others utilize the deepest corners of their brain to accomplish more.  Rachel’s research and work has brought the importance of the Mind-Body Connection into mainstream medicine. \nRachel was recruited to the nation’s largest health insurance company\, UnitedHealthcare\, to build new behavioral health programs that improved access and lowered costs for patients to get additional mental health resources and support. The business cases and medical cost offset these programs demonstrated led to the whole industry following suit. \nRachel then worked for emerging technology companies\, including one of the nation’s earliest providers of telehealth\, Amwell\, to bring virtual care to mental health\, making it less expensive and more convenient.  In 2018 she began offering The Museum of Happiness to community and corporate groups throughout the U.S.  Rachel is the author of 3 books on this topic and lives with her spouse and 2 children in Winter Park.
