SUMMARY:Herbs for Muscle Recovery and Relief
DESCRIPTION:Start your own journey to learning more about herbs for wellbeing with this two-part series presented by Julie Ward.\n\n\nWith a bigger focus on preventative health over the past several years\, people are looking for easy\, everyday ways to fight off viruses\, ailments and aches and pains. One of the most affordable and simple ways to boost your health is through herbs. These days\, even major scientific universities\, such as the University of Rochester Medical Center\, tout the many benefits of herbs for wellbeing. \nStart your own journey to learning more about herbs for wellbeing with this two-part series\, presented by certified ACE Health Coach and herbalist Julie Ward. In part 2\, Julie will cover Herbs for Muscle Recovery and Relief. \nBefore the availability of over-the-counter pain medications\, people relied on a variety of herbs to provide relief during illness and injury. This class examines the traditional usage of pain-relieving herbs\, from well-known herbs such as Arnica\, Turmeric\, and the calming properties of Chamomile to the lesser-known gems like Devil’s Claw\, Boswellia\, the potent benefits of Jamaican Dogwood and the connective tissue support offered by Solomon’s Seal. \nParticipants will gain an understanding of each herb’s unique benefits and applications. Whether you are an athlete seeking natural ways to enhance recovery or someone looking to manage muscle discomfort holistically\, this course provides a holistic perspective on harnessing the power of herbs for muscle wellbeing\, empowering participants to integrate these natural remedies seamlessly into their wellness routines. \nWant to learn more? Click here for details on Part 1: Herbs for the Nervous System. \nProgram note: This is an informational\, not prescriptive class. SUMMARY:Sound Bowl Healing
DESCRIPTION:Experience this unique form of meditation for yourself with Crosby Wellness Center’s Nicole Elliot.\n\n\nJoin experienced sound healing practitioners from the Peggy & Philip B. Crosby Wellness Center at the Center for Health & Wellbeing for a relaxing guided meditation and sound healing experience. \nThe use of sound therapy has existed across cultures and throughout history to promote health and wellbeing. Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat\, towel\, or small blanket; chairs will be available for those who prefer to use one. The room can also be cool during this program\, so cold-sensitive participants may also want to bring a light jacket or sweater.
