SUMMARY:Artists' Series: Violinist Lunch and Learn
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our brand-new Artists’ Series\, presented by Central Florida Vocal Arts.\n\n\nJoin us for our brand-new Artists’ Series\, presented by Central Florida Vocal Arts. Each month this fall\, you’ll enjoy a lunchtime performance from some of Central Florida’s top musicians and have the opportunity to learn about their process and passion. Bring your own lunch from home or pick up something from Nourish Coffee Bar + Kitchen on the way in. \nIn November\, we are thrilled to welcome celebrated violinist Jaquay Pearce\, who will share a selection of inspiring musical numbers spanning genres\, while taking you on a journey from strings classroom to international performer. \nThis program is presented by Central Florida Vocal Arts and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation. \nAbout the Presenter:    \nJaquay (juh-kway) Pearce was first introduced to the violin at age 7 as a student in the Orange County Public Schools’ strings program. Jaquay attended Winter Park High School and was a member of their Park Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2006\, she performed with this orchestra at the prestigious Midwest Clinic in Chicago\, Illinois. \nJaquay attended the University of Central Florida (UCF) where she participated in several master classes and performed with a variety of musicians and ensembles throughout Central Florida. \nJaquay later auditioned and became a member of the Central Florida Community Arts Orchestra. She was Concertmaster for their production of “Guys & Dolls\,” and First Violin for their production of “Beauty & the Beast with the Orlando Ballet\,” along with several other productions. In 2017\, Jaquay auditioned and became a member of the coveted Encore! Orchestra as First Violin\, and currently performs in productions. \nJaquay auditioned and became a member of the string quartet Violectric\, Fretless Rock and Strings Etc. in January 2017. Jaquay and ensemble has opened for acts such as Josh Groban and Joan Jett\, and has collaborated/performed with charities such as Make A Wish Foundation\, The Florida Hospital Gala and One Pulse Foundation (Pulse Nightclub affiliation). Jaquay is also a private violin teacher and performs for several artists throughout the area. \nJaquay loves to play classical\, modern and film score pieces. SUMMARY:Introduction to Barre Fitness
DESCRIPTION:Join Crosby Wellness Center group exercise instructor Tracy Foust to learn the basics of Barre.\n\n\nBarre is a fitness class that is part strength training\, Pilates\, Ballet and Balance training. Barre workouts target multiple muscle groups with small\, isometric exercises. What does this mean? It helps you build lean muscle with tiny incremental movements. Pulsing\, squeezing\, and tucking just a few inches can make you feel like you’re shaking like a bowl of gelatin dessert! Yet\, these small movements have the potential to tone your entire body. Barre classes are also a great and safe way to work out while keeping joints safe\, increasing core strength and balance. No wonder people are addicted to barre! In this program\, led by Crosby Wellness Center group exercise instructor Tracy Foust\, come learn the basics of Barre and feel more confidence to start incorporating it in your wellbeing journey. \nProgram Notes: Please come dressed in comfortable fitness attire and bring your own exercise mat. We also recommend bringing a water bottle that can be refilled in our refillable water station. \nThis program is presented by Tracy Foust and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation in partnership with the Crosby Wellness Center. \nAbout the Presenter:    \nTracy Foust has been working in the fitness industry for more than 23 years. She is certified in Spin\, Barre\, Aqua\, TRX\, Older Adult strength training and is a NASM certified personal trainer. She’s a former high school teacher and coach who opened her own business personal training business and leads personal and group fitness programs.
