If you have an imbalance in your gut bacteria\, you could develop something called dysbiosis\, which can\, in turn\, lead to sleep disturbances\, migraine\, skin irritation\, unexplained weight gain or loss\, bloating\, diarrhea\, constipation\, strong cravings for sugar and carbs\, moodiness\, and autoimmune disease … just to name a few! In this cooking program\, Registered Dietitian and Culinary Medicine Specialist Allison Harrell will share ways to improve your gut health by eating delicious plant powered food. She’ll be joined in the Center for Health & Wellbeing’s Nutrition Theatre by Daniel Galante\, DO\, a colorectal Surgeon at AdventHealth Winter Park. \nThis is a demonstration-style cooking program\, so prepare to sit back\, relax and let our chef prepare the meal while you enjoy the delicious items. She advanced her knowledge by becoming a certified Culinary Medicine Specialist\, certified in Weight Loss Management. Harrell believes that every time we eat\, it is an opportunity to promote our health. She incorporates culinary experiences with a science-based approach. Her programs and tools make a positive difference in the health of our communities by instilling confidence and knowledge in the kitchen. \nDaniel Galante\, DO\, MS\, is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon and Assistant Program Director for the Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship program at AdventHealth. In March\, the talented dancers from Magennis Academy\, Orlando’s premiere Irish dance school\, dazzled Center for Health & Wellbeing visitors with a special interactive performance of the ancient art of Irish dancing. To celebrate the halfway point to next year’s St. Patrick’s Day\, you’re cordially invited to once again enjoy Irish dancing by some of America’s top dancers. You’ll marvel as they display this beautiful art form through intricate footwork and vibrancy. Although he has more than 22 years of experience in the field of Irish Dance\, Magennis turned professional in 2013 after graduating with a First-Class Honors law degree from Queen’s University Belfast Law School. After which\, he travelled to more than 30 countries extensively with some of the world’s most renowned Irish dance shows. Magennis opened his academy in January of 2020 and has now around 70 children between his Orlando and Melbourne locations\, where he teaches dance five times a week. Classes are offered in Orlando\, Lake Nona\, Winter Garden and Melbourne.
