SUMMARY:Food as Medicine: Vegan Cooking
DESCRIPTION:Join us for “Food as Medicine: Vegan Cooking” on Wednesday\, August 17 at 11 AM.\n\n\nLet’s explore the flavors of a vegan diet with Registered Dietitian and Culinary Medicine Expert\, Allison Harrell\, and AdventHealth family medicine physician George Guthrie\, MD\, author of “Eat Plants Feel Whole.” Did you know that whole food plant proteins will keep you fuller longer than animal protein due to the fiber content? But does plant protein taste good enough to make this a lifestyle or incorporate it in some of your meals? Come to this class and find out. Trust us — you will LOVE the dessert recipe! \nThis is a demonstration-style cooking program\, so prepare to sit back\, relax and let our chef prepare the meal while you enjoy the delicious items. While attending this program\, participants will receive a booklet for the following recipes: \n\nTex Mex Tofu Scramble\nSmashed Chickpea Salad\nChocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip\n\n  \nCan’t join us in person? Watch online for free! We’ll be sharing your questions and comments with Allison and Dr. Guthrie during the program! Click here to register.  \nThis program is presented by Allison Harrell and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation in collaboration with AdventHealth. \nCancelling Your Reservation: If you are unable to attend a program\, cancelling your reservation gives us an accurate count of how many to expect; for sold-out programs\, cancelling your reservation also allows someone on the waitlist to attend in your place. Cancelling can be done in two simple ways: by calling 407.644.2492 and selecting Option 1\, then Option 3 to speak to a representative or by using the online ticket cancellation option in your original confirmation email from Eventbrite. In order to receive a full refund\, participants must cancel their program registration at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled start of the program.
