SUMMARY:The Wellbeing Walkers (In Person)
DESCRIPTION:Join us in person for “The Wellbeing Walkers” every Monday and Tuesday starting Monday\, May 16 at 11 AM at the Second Floor’s West Lobby.\n\n\nDid you know that a 15-minute walk can improve your wellbeing? Take strides to improve your overall wellbeing by joining the Wellbeing Walkers. This walking group meets once a week for six weeks and will help you stay on track by providing accountability and motivation along your journey to wellbeing. Stay in step with Sara Wright\, personal trainer at the Crosby Wellness Center and CHWB Wellbeing Guide\, as you navigate the public indoor walking track at the CHWB. \nBy participating in this six-week journey\, you can expect to: \n\ndiscover how the activity of walking can help improve your health.\nlearn the benefits of walking\, recommended weekly amount of exercise and how to develop a plan that suits your needs.\nlearn specific exercises designed to improve your walking ability.\n\nThis program is presented by Sara Wright and hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation. \nCancelling Your Reservation: If you are unable to attend a program\, cancelling your reservation gives us an accurate count of how many to expect; for sold-out programs\, cancelling your reservation also allows someone on the waitlist to attend in your place. Cancelling can be done in two easy ways: by calling 407.644.2492 and selecting Option 1\, then Option 3 to speak to a representative or by using the online ticket cancellation option in your original confirmation email from Eventbrite. \nBy participating in this program\, you agree to CHWB’s Gracious Space policy. \nAbout the Program Presenter  \nSara Wright is the wellbeing guide at the Center for Health & Wellbeing (CHWB). She is also a personal trainer with the Peggy & Philip B. Crosby Wellness Center at CHWB. Wright joined the Winter Park Health Foundation\, owner of the Crosby Wellness Center and co-owner and primary developer of the CHWB\, in March 2019. As the wellbeing guide\, she works directly with community members providing wellbeing coaching and consultation. Wright makes suggestions\, provides educational resources\, and links each person to programs and services suited to attain health and wellbeing goals safely and smartly. She also creates an individualized plan and provides motivational support as each community member works to achieve success along their personal wellbeing journey. Wright has more than 20 years of professional experience\, including the following areas of expertise: Social Services\, Health Education\, Community Relations\, Management\, Personal Training\, and Fitness Coaching. She earned a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and two bachelor’s degrees. She is passionate about helping others reach their goals and achieve self-empowerment.

DESCRIPTION:Join us in person for “Strength Training with Osteoporosis” on Monday\, May 23 at 2 PM in the Community Conference Center.\n\n\nIt’s never too late to start an exercise program\, even if you have osteoporosis. In fact\, strength training can prevent you from further fractures or falls. \nIn this informational session with Crosby Wellness Center fitness specialist Ethan Dorleans\, you’ll learn how to properly and safely exercise to build strength while living with osteoporosis. Dorleans will explain the many benefits of continuing with a fitness program after diagnosis and will share important do’s and don’ts when it comes to fitness activities.
