SUMMARY:Herb Gardening with Fleet Farming (Webinar)
DESCRIPTION:Join us for “Herb Gardening Fleet Farming (Webinar)” on Tuesday\, May 3 at 11 AM.\n\n\nPerfect for adding flavor to foods and beverages\, herbs are easy to grow with a little sunshine and a little knowledge. In this program\, Caroline Chomanics\, a passionate local horticulturalist\, will dive into the basics of setting up your own herb garden\, including herb propagation and herbal recipes. Chomanics\, the program director at Fleet Farming\, a non-profit program of IDEAS For Us where Chomanics also serves as the chief operations officer\, will teach Florida growers about the planning and planting of herbs. \nSpecial Instructions: Participants are encouraged to bring paper and a writing utensil for note-taking. \nThis program is presented by Caroline Chomanics and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation. \nHow to join the Zoom Program: \nUpon registration for this program\, you will receive two emails: \n• One email from Eventbrite: you can either disregard this email or save it for your records. No action needed with this message. \n• One email from the Center for Health & Wellbeing: this email will contain your link to join the Zoom meeting. Simply select the link and the Zoom Meeting will launch. If you prefer to be left out of the program’s recording\, please leave your camera and microphone off for the duration of the program. \nAbout Your Program Presenter  \nCaroline Chomanics is a passionate horticulturalist in the Central Florida community having earned her degree in Landscape and Horticulture Technology from Valencia College and her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Sustainable Urbanism from Rollins College. She developed her horticultural skills while living for four years at Nehrling Gardens\, a historic botanical garden in Gotha\, Florida. Since 2015\, Caroline has served as program manager to Fleet Farming\, an urban agriculture program that transforms lawns into farms. She also acts as chief administrative officer to IDEAS For Us\, which develops\, funds\, and scales environmental action projects in the focus areas of energy\, water\, food\, waste and ecology. When she is not farming\, she is honored to be the gardening teacher at Inspiring Minds Day School\, teaching children about the wonders of the natural world.
