SUMMARY:Vision Board Workshop (In Person)
DESCRIPTION:Join us in person for Vision Board Workshop on Thursday\, April 7\, 2022 at 1 PM in the Community Conference Center.\n\n\nGenerations of athletes have used visualization to improve their performance and results. What if those same principles could help you manifest wellbeing in all areas of your life\, from relationships to career and hobbies to your physical and mental health? Vision boards are a wonderful way to start working toward your personal goals and dreams. Psychology Today points out that the act of creating a vision board helps us gain self-awareness and self-reflect on what is important to us – giving us a visual roadmap toward a positive future. So\, let’s get started! \nCentral Florida Community Arts Teaching Artist Chris Hicks will lead this session\, combining the power of words\, pictures and your imagination. Using a series of word prompts\, Hicks will lead you on a journey of self-discovery as you choose pictures to embody your next steps on your wellbeing journey. At the end of the class\, you’ll leave with your personalized vision board\, setting you up for new opportunities and success in the year ahead. \nBy participating in this session\, you can expect to: \n\ncreate a tangible vision board to use in your home or office space.\nenjoy the process of reflecting on your goals and capturing them in a visual format.\nlearn the guided process of using prompts to assess the root word of elements that are most important to you.\n\nThis program is presented by CFCArts Teaching Artist Chris Hicks and hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation in collaboration with CFCArts. \nCancelling Your Reservation: If you are unable to attend a program\, cancelling your reservation gives us an accurate count of how many to expect; for sold-out programs\, cancelling your reservation also allows someone on the waitlist to attend in your place. Cancelling your reservation for this program is especially important as we are currently limiting capacities as part of our COVID-19 safety regulations. Cancelling can be done in two easy ways: by calling 407.644.2492 and selecting Option 1\, then Option 3 to speak to a representative or by using the online ticket cancellation option in your original confirmation email from Eventbrite. \nBy participating in this program\, you agree to CHWB’s Gracious Space policy. \nAbout the Program Presenter \nChris Hicks relocated to Orlando from the Chicago area\, where she headed up a highly recognized high school theatre program and taught Honors and Advanced Placement English classes. Chris has a bachelor’s degree in Speech/ Theatre from Northern Illinois University and a Masters Degree in Teaching from National Louis University. Chris’ involvement with CFCArts includes teaching the Narrators! class as well as creative writing and acting workshops throughout the community. In her spare time\, she enjoys costuming and performing with theaters\, most notably as Ethyl in “On Golden Pond” and Mae Peterson in “Bye Bye Birdie\,” where she was recognized by the Orlando Sentinel as one of Orlando Theatre’s Best of 2019 Performers.
