SUMMARY:Visible Climate: America's Changing Landscapes (In Person)
DESCRIPTION:Join us in person for Visible Climate: America’s Changing Landscapes on Thursday\, January 20 at 6 PM in Community Conference Room B.\n\n\nTwo professors from Rollins College are on a mission to document changes to our most cherished landscapes – America’s national parks. “Visible Climate” is a result of that mission\, combining elements of science and art through an ongoing collaboration between Lee Lines\, a geographer\, and Rachel Simmons\, an artist\, colleagues at Rollins College who have been creating environmentally–themed visual art since 2010. \nJoin Lines as he leads you through a thought-provoking conversation on the constellation of ecological changes across the North American continent\, sharing examples of his team’s research\, including visually stunning photos. \nIn his leading research and in-person visual commentary\, Lines will discuss how Environmental Wellbeing can impact many aspects of our overall health and wellbeing\, and how our planet’s health is intricately tied to our own. Discover why it’s important to pay close attention to conditions in places across the entire nation! \nThis program is presented by Lee Lines and hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation. \nA note regarding COVID-19 safety protocols: At this time\, all guests at the Center for Health & Wellbeing are required to wear masks in all indoor spaces\, including during our education programs. Presenters may remove their masks in order to be better heard by audience members. Attendees\, however\, must keep their masks fully in place (covering the nose and mouth) during the entire presentation. In accordance with CHWB guidelines\, our programs will also be limited in capacity and rooms set to account for social distancing. \nCancelling Your Reservation: If you are unable to attend a program\, cancelling your reservation gives us an accurate count of how many to expect; for sold-out programs\, cancelling your reservation also allows someone on the waitlist to attend in your place. Cancelling your reservation for this program is especially important as we are currently limiting capacities as part of our COVID-19 safety regulations. Cancelling can be done in two easy ways: by calling 407.644.2492 and selecting Option 1\, then Option 3 to speak to a representative or by using the online ticket cancellation option in your original confirmation email from Eventbrite. \nBy participating in this program\, you agree to CHWB’s Gracious Space policy. \n About the Program Presenter \nLee Lines is a professor of Environmental Studies at Rollins College in Winter Park\, Florida. He earned his Ph.D. in Geography from Arizona State University in 1995. His teaching and research interests are focused on physical geography\, climate change\, and the relationships between food and the environment. In recent years\, he has taught field-study courses in Costa Rica\, California\, and the Pacific Northwest. Line’s most recent fieldwork explores the wide-ranging impacts of climate change on public lands in North America.
