Harmonious Horizons – Changing Our Perceptions of Stress to Find Peace (Webinar)

October 8 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

- Free
Join us for Harmonious Horizons – Changing Our Perceptions of Stress to Find Peace (Webinar) on Thursday, October 8 at 7 PM.

Modern life abounds in stressors, from time pressures to the demands of families, work and relationships. This year we add the unprecedented unpredictability of the COVID-19 pandemic. The secret to stress management lies not in trying to eliminate or avoid challenges, but in dealing with stress in a positive, proactive manner. In this workshop, you’ll join Licensed Mental Health Counselor Alison Issen to explore the attitudes and habits that affect how we perceive problems and learn specific techniques involving contemplative methods, exercise, cognitive restructuring and priority evaluation.

By participating in this program, you can expect to learn:

  • the basic physiological responses of the human body to various environmental and emotional stresses.
  • the ability to regulate the autonomic response to stressors with increased awareness, modeling and practice of regulatory approaches to controlling stress responses.
  • practical skills for developing methods to address the unique styles of reacting to stress, in order to moderate the potentially harmful effects of stressful situations.
