There’s a reason parenting is called the toughest job on Earth – because some days, it really is! Although it comes with moments of unmatched joy, it can also be challenging and stressful at times as you help guide your kids through childhood.
Come and chat with a mental health counselor about current mental health topics and how to help yourself or your children to prioritize mental and emotional health. This small group experience is a great opportunity to join and connect with other parents while getting feedback from a professional. This will be an open discussion, so come with any questions or topics that you would like to learn more about! Space is limited.
Program notes: This program is for adults only. Also, the Nourish Coffee Bar + Kitchen is open until 8 p.m. if you want to pick up a snack, drink or dinner before or after the session.
This program is presented by Sarah Atherton and Julia DeLettre, mental health counselors from the CHILL program and is hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation.
About the Presenter:
The CHILL (Community Help & Intervention in Life’s Lessons) program in Orange County Public Schools was founded in 1998 by the Winter Park Health Foundation in partnership with the 12 Orange County Public School serving Winter Park, Maitland and Eatonville. CHILL provides free, confidential, in-school counseling to students and their families. It is part of a collection of school-based health and wellness services supported by WPHF called the Coordinated Youth Initiative (CYI). Other services include nurses, nurse practitioners in school-based health centers, and healthy school teams.
Sarah Atherton is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who has been working in community and school-based settings for most of her 22-year career. She has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families providing mental health counseling and support for issues such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, and self-harm.
