About Your Program Presenter
Laura VonMutius is the Audubon Center’s education manager. She joined Audubon in February 2017 and hasn’t looked back. VonMutius started her career as an educator at SeaWorld before working with the Central Florida Zoo, where she was a conservation educator and resident artist. Through her years of being an educator, VonMutius has inspired children and adults alike to take part in conserving wildlife through her enthusiastic leadership at summer camps, programs for public, private and homeschool students and special events. Working with live birds is one of VonMutius’ favorite parts of her job. While she isn’t supposed to pick favorites, she is partial to Gretel, a sweet Swallow-tailed Kite. VonMutius grew up in Orlando and holds a Bachelor of Science in Art Education from Florida State University. She continues to create art in her free time.
