For beginners, yoga classes can be intimidating. Where do I put my mat? Is there space in the back of the room? What about props – do I need those? What if I can’t do the poses or get stuck in one? If these fears have ever kept you from experiencing the life-changing benefits of a regular yoga practice, this program is for you.
Join Crosby Wellness Center’s certified Group Exercise and Yoga Instructor Dawn to demystify yoga and build confidence in your practice in a non-threatening environment. You’ll learn how to correctly position yourself into some of yoga’s most common poses while gaining an understanding of how each move benefits your health and fitness. Dawn will also provide an overview of the muscles worked in each pose and share modifications for those with orthopedic or injury issues.
This program is a great progression for anyone who has tried chair yoga and now feels ready to try a floor-based yoga class.
This program is presented by Dawn Marzlock and hosted by the Winter Park Health Foundation.
Special Instructions: Please be prepared for this program with a yoga mat or somewhere comfortable and firm to lay.
